Once upon a time in Chicago a middle school girl fell in love with a baseball playing boy. She would spend half the school year trying to capture his attention and it payed off when out of the blue he asked her out in the school cafeteria. Although they broke up and went their separate ways in high school, Julia’s heart still beat for Jamie. One day she heard his name called on the role her heart skipped a beat. Somehow they found their way back to each other and haven’t been apart since.
Julia’s family travelled to Disney every year for vacation and Julia always made her family stop and look at Disney’s Wedding Pavilion. She dreamed of one day having her own wedding in the magical place. So when it came time for her wedding she knew right away where she wanted to have it! Julia told me she had followed my career for over 10 years and had dreamed of us shooting her wedding. It was so humbling to walk into the room with the biggest welcome from everyone so happy to see us! And while the day was beautiful and everything went off perfectly poor Julia spent the morning of her wedding in the ER with a positive test for the flu. Although she was battling not feeling well you never would have known it. Not only did she look like a real life princess but she was happy, energetic and ready to marry the man of her dreams!
Jamie and Julia went back and forth on a theme for their wedding. They joked it was like scene in the movie Sleeping Beauty when the fairies kept turning her dress pink and then blue again. From that funny comment came the perfect theme….a pink and blue wedding! When I heard those were the colors I was a little skeptic because I kept thinking bright colors…. but it was just BEAUTIFUL!! Everything from her grandma’s passed down rosary and garter, to her ring box and flowers and even her pink dress matched perfectly! It was Jamie’s idea to have “Once Upon a Dream” on the aisle runner as a nod to Julia’s dream to get married at Disney since she as 5 years old. Congratulations guys we were so honored to be a part of your day!!
