We had the wonderful chance to shoot another full day Vietnamese wedding with Helen and Cliff. 14 hours flew by with all the fun things that were happening. These are two people who once you meet them you know just how perfect they are together.
The day started by capturing their getting ready over at Homewood Suites in Lake Mary. Then we all traveled downtown for their full Catholic mass ceremony at St James Cathedral. Since a lot of Helen’s family was in town from Vietnam and spoke Vietnamese they translated a lot of the ceremony for them.
After the ceremony they held the traditional Vietnamese Tea ceremony at Helen’s parents house. Cliff’s family paraded down the street carrying gifts for Helen’s family in traditional red boxes. Helen’s uncle was very helpful in walking everyone through what was happening and all the traditions so everyone understood exactly what was going on and the significance of each moment. When the final tea was served Helen and Cliff and their wedding party excited the house and walked 2 blocks over to Helen and Cliff’s new house so he could carry her over the threshold. It was such a romantic and fun thing to watch. Their two dogs were waiting excitedly to see them as well! After some photos in their traditional ao dai they changed and we all headed to Noah’s Event Center. With some more photos in the wedding dress and tux it was time for the party. Hao Wah restaurant served several courses including a flaming appetizer! There was karaoke while the guests ate and after the first dance the dance party began (including a third dress for Helen)!
Congratulations Helen and Cliff. We had such an amazing time running around town capturing your day and all the special moments and nuances.
