Wedding Specific Questions

How many weddings have you shot?
We average 50-70 weddings a year and have been photographing weddings since 2006.  Multiply that out, carry the 1, add the extra, and the total comes to A LOT.

What is your wedding photography style?
We love the drama!! (at least in our photos 😉 As both of our backgrounds involve the theatre, we love to draw from our experience in working on stage to create exciting and dramatic imagery.  We pride ourselves in creating works of art, and work diligently to capture the natural moments from every session or wedding.  More than anything, we are experts in lighting.  Whether on-camera, off-camera, or in natural conditions, you can trust Cricket’s Photography to capture timeless photography that you’ll have for a lifetime, and for generations to come.

How do I pay the remaining balance?

Have you shot at my venue?
There is hardly a venue we haven’t worked, but in the cases we have a venue that is new, we always do our homework prior to the wedding to make sure we’re familiar with the location.  We work quite a few destination weddings each year and arriving early to scope out venues is a normal process for us.

Is there a second photographer?
All of our 6 or more hour packages include a second photographer.

Do you offer videography?
Yes see examples of our work here.

Do you allow other photographers?
No.  We don’t want your final product to be negatively impacted by another photographer, guest, or vendor. In addition, we encourage our couples to have an “unplugged wedding ceremony.”  For more information on this read here.

Do you travel for destination weddings?
Yes.  We charge a one time travel fee, in addition to the wedding collection booked.  We only take a limited number of destination weddings each year.

Do you shoot weddings for less than 8 hours?
Our weekend Collections start at 8 hours, however we work frequently with fewer hours of coverage during the week.  Be sure to contact us at info@cricketsphoto.com to inquire.

What kind of equipment do you use?
We shoot with Nikon professional cameras (at the moment D750s, D800) with Nikon lenses and flashes.  We also have an arsenal of off camera lighting gear we use to capture our signature images.

If my venue is dark or the church won’t allow flash photography, can you still capture the photos we need?
Yes, the majority of churches don’t allow flash photography and so we have loads of experience shooting in low light conditions.  In addition, we prefer not to shoot with flash during the ceremony as it can be distracting from the vows and ceremony.

What do you wear to the wedding?
We dress professionally and prefer to dress all in black.  We attempt to be out of site whenever possible………Ninjas.  We try to be photography ninjas.  Or as Wesley Snipes would say, “always bet on black”.  Or as AC/DC would say, “Back in black”.  Black is the new black.  Ok, you get the point.

How many images will we receive from our wedding?
On a typical 8 hour wedding, we deliver 800 images.  Every wedding is unique, so the number of images provided varies depending on the length of the ceremony, the amount of dancing, the amount of time allotted for photography, etc.

Do we get black and white photos?
Yes, we photograph many of your wedding photos in both color and black and white.  And there are some photos that are provided in black and white only as the shot calls for that particular style.

Do you edit all the images we receive?
Yes.  Every image you receive will have our personal touch on it that stays consistent with our style of photography.

What if we want additional re-touching done to an image?
If you want more advanced post production editing applied to specific images such as blemish removal, hair fly aways, head swapping, changing the size and shape of a body, adding T-Rex to an image, etc. we charge hourly due to the lengthy amount of effort and time it takes to complete those types of requests.  Contact our studio for a custom quote.

Do you shoot in RAW or Jpeg?
We capture in raw, but not in the buff.

Can we get the Raw files?
No, we do not provide the raw files. We work very hard to deliver the best product to our clients and always deliver the final product after our signature touch has been placed on each photo provided.

How many hours should we book for our wedding?
Please see our estimated photography timeline to better determine how many hours you should book for your day.

What if we go over the amount of hours we booked or we want to add more coverage time?
You can always extend us for more time, if needed.  At the end of the evening, we will always ask if you’d like us to stay longer.

Is travel time included in the coverage hours?
Coverage begins at the time of our arrival.  Traveling to and from other locations the day of your wedding, in addition to the downtime in-between events, is considered coverage time.  In the rare instance we do have some downtime, we will work to catch up on photos if the day is running behind, or to download photos to backup equipment.

How do we design our wedding album?
You have options! You can have us design the entire album, you can pick a handful of images and we’ll do the rest, or you can choose all the images and we’ll design it with those images in mind.  We utilize an online proofing system to help you review and be part of the overall process.

When do we schedule our engagement session?
Due to our very heavy wedding schedule on the weekends, our engagement sessions are shot Monday – Thursday.  Venues are also a lot less crowded during these days.

How long does it take to get images from our engagement session?
3 weeks.  If a rush edit is required we charge an additional $100.

How many images do we get on an engagement session?
Typically 50-100 edited images
